DescriptionAZAADI is the story of Parvati, a woman who lives in a basement flat with her husband, a frustrated writer. A voice over taken from the poem 'The Playhouse' expresses Parvati's sadness and rage, with the film's mise-en-scene expressing the claustrophobia of her world. Kali, goddess of destruction, finally releases Parvati into the wide open spaces beyond, urging her to write her own story. Both worlds merge; the past becomes dream and Kali becomes reality. AZAADI is an intensely powerful visual expression of loneliness and freedom.
