AZAADI is the story of an Indian woman who lives in a basement flat with her husband, a frustrated writer. Trapped in a loveless marriage, the goddess Kali enters her world to set her free. The voice-over that accompanies the film is taken from the Kamala Das poem, The Old Playhouse.
