Based on a true story about the filmmaker’s grandmother who, after the death of her mother, put a shrine to St Mary Magdalene in a wood. The Department of Transport now plans to build a new motorway running straight through the wood. Looks at how the destruction of the shrine marks the destruction of the world of imagery she has created throughout her lifetime. Follows her walking through the wood to the shrine on the day it is to be removed by the authorities. As she walks, she relives the day when aged twelve, she put up the statue. Images of people she has seen and things that have happened to her during her walks there flash up.
