Adventures in the Gender Trade
This documentary explores the notion of gender through the life and work of trans lesbian playwright, Kate Bornstein. Poet Pat Califia; performance artist Justin Bond; author of '100 Years Of Homosexuality' David Halprin and transmasc Jack Ireland question the usefulness of society's rigid gender system with humour and intelligence. In scenes from Bornstein's play, 'Hidden: A Gender', Kate portrays the comic aspects of a world obsessed with rigid gender boundaries. Her unique point of view takes audiences into a world that celebrates gender diversity and exposes viewers to the fascinating and gifted members of the transgender community.
