‘Aletheia’ is an introductory tape to the blindness series, in which an indexing of categories investigates different aspects of blindness as metaphor. The multiple modes of discourse resound in the texts (journalistic, anecdotal, fictive, factual, fantastic, and theoretical) culled together on a playing field of various fictions and perspectives. Stylistic preference for the techniques and conventions of MTV and American television in general provides the viewer means to create connections. Although issues of identity and mass media representation are not outlined as one of the episodes, they are very much dominant themes in the series.
