'...I catch a few bars of some Barry Manilow co-dependent love song at the corner store, and tap into this well of sadness about not getting what I want from her. That melancholy ache is so familiar from childhood – always having crushes on girls and not being able to do anything about it...'

‘Blue Diary’ follows a melancholy day in the life of a San Francisco dyke pining over her one-night stand with a straight girl. Composed primarily of wide, static shots of the city landscape, ambient sound and voice-over, the film's pacing conveys and reflects the emotional state of the film's protagonist.

A cinematic study of love, loss and urban landscape with low-key voiceover by Tribe 8 great Lynn Flipper.
