An impressionistic drama about Louise, a young Black girl growing up in Britain. Going to a predominantly white school and with a busy mother who is unable to give her the attention she wants, Louise turns to her Jamaican grandmother via letters to gain an understanding of her own history. The more she learns, the more aware she becomes of racism, the “invisibility” of Black people in British history and the desire to make this history known.
