Fundi - The Ellla Baker Story
Fundi is a Swahili word describing the person in a community who passes her crafts from one generation to another. This documentary is about the life and work of Ella Baker, veteran American Civil Rights campaigner, a militant political activist who became best known for her championing of non-violent methods of civil disobedience. Ella Baker worked with people at a grassroots level to develop awareness in others, especially the young.
This moving film tells of one person's struggle, spanning 50 years, to change and challenge the situation of Black people. Illustrating the impact of one person who believes in the inherent strengths of ordinary people.
