Based on Christina Rossetti's romantic poem of the same name, ‘Goblin Market’ tells the story of two sisters tempted by goblins to eat enchanted fruit.
Every evening as they fetch water from the brook, two sisters, Laura and Lizzie, hear goblins calling to them to buy their enchanted fruit. One day Laura succumbs and gorges herself on their wares, paying for them with a lock of her hair. As a result she becomes very ill and starts to die. The only antidote is to eat more fruit, but she can no longer see the goblins or hear them call....
