An abstract theme and variations on the beauty of nature and film; using music, light and movement to convey a mood. See a patchwork of water and wings, in gold and green, set to a laid back version of ‘Greensleeves’
Filmed originally on Super 8 and edited first in the bedroom and secondly in the avid suite, the trilogy attempts to capture the simplicity and spontaneity of the underground film making tradition. Painted frames, ink varnish bleach and other reworking of the celluloid richly produce a sense of the personal – and hopefully the political too.
‘Golden Green’ is part three of ‘The Filmic Pleasure Trilogy’ which consists of three short three minute films, each one concerned with conveying a sense of joy and optimism. In the spirit of home movies they record small but significant moments – an afternoon in the park, meeting friends, a trip to the seaside. Taken together they celebrate relationships between women and the power of nature to raise the spirits.
