‘Monomyth’ depicts an introspective, emotional journey of a woman through separation, loss, initiation and return. This experience is played through the simple act of the grandmother cutting then shaving her hair. Through this action the grandmother acts sometimes as the mentor, guiding and supporting the woman through fear and loss, finally to comfort and empowerment.
