I wanted to express my continued anger at the way in which patriarchy excludes women who don't conform to its ideals and beliefs from "history". I also wanted to present more positive images of women than those which patriarchy gives us, and to show how hard it is to rediscover these images. The tape is quite rough: I didn't want to refine it or make it more sophisticated as I knew this would blunt the edge of the anger and sadness that had motivated me to make it.
