This poignant drama focuses on Emily, the daughter of Holocaust survivors, struggling with her childhood fears and fantasies of love. Her relationships with a man and then a woman fail to relieve her anxiety and the sadness she has inherited and instead force her to confront the pain in her past and to make peace with her own life. ‘Separate Skin’ intercuts present day reality with flashback and fantasy sequences revealing Emily's state of mind as she battles with her fears and desires.
