Gaish is an elegant playboy with lots of girlfriends. They meet him at Club Marilyn in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo, and although he talks like a rugged man, he is actually a woman – an onnabe – or woman who lives as a man. Gaish says of his sexuality, ‘I don't want to be a man. If people say I'm inbetween that's OK’.
The girl’s clients know that onnabe hosts in clubs are not supposed to have serious relationships with them outside, but it doesn't stop them trying. Tatsu lives with his girlfriend, Tomoe and they have a sexual relationship. ‘I'll never be a real man. My body is not a man's so I don't want her to see it. I never take my clothes off.’
