A simple and touching drama situated around an encounter between a second generation Australian‑Italian teenager and a traditional Italian widow. With her husband dead only three months, the widow is alone in a hostile, anti‑Italian society. Images of trinkets and family photographs placed around her flat symbolise her strong and unsevered ties with Italy.
Attacked by a gang of white boys, the widow is rescued by the Australian‑Italian boy who begins to question his own identity, caught between two cultures.
