Women for a Change
‘Women for a Change’ is a documentary highlighting the British government's aid policies and practices in relation to women in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Through interviews (with Swasti Mitter, Annie Muganga and Glenys Kinnock), narration and animation, the video aims to raise public awareness of how the needs of women are not seen as a priority by the aid planners. British-funded aid projects are looked at, showing how they consistently fail to improve the lives of women in terms of providing relevant healthcare and creating better work and home conditions. The final part of the tape shows women organising themselves and campaigning to create better conditions in these areas of their lives.
