‘Wavelengths’ is a short dramatic film about the time honoured quest for love and human intimacy. This stylish, witty and warm movie set in gay bars, in dreams, in adverts and cyberspace delights in the gloss of the world it depicts as it explores one woman's foray into cybersex looking for emotionally safer sex.

Mona (Indra Ove) has a broken heart, an empty goldfish tank and – in her altered state – the ability to pick up other people's conversations across the airwaves – but stuck in the post relationship blues, Mona just can't move on. Until her best friend (Stephanie Buttle) suggests she tries Cybersex…

Mona dreams of ice-cream which possesses a magic power and a mysterious woman's voice that just won't take no for an answer. As she watches the world go by Mona finds herself momentarily entering into other people's wavelengths. She eavesdrops on two drag queens being interviewed by an earnest journalist and witnesses a passionate lover’s tiff between two deaf dykes. Amazed by the variation of human communication, Mona gets ever closer to being able to make human contact herself again, but can Mona pluck up the courage to get on-line? The sexual tension mounts as Mona's own heart begins to melt and she gets more than she bargained for in her journey across the wavelengths.

This intriguing new film captures the contemporary London gay scene at its most vibrant and alluring. The sounds of the city, nightclubs, bars, dreamscapes and memories are sensually evoked and visually stunning.

Featuring music by Skunk Anansie, Everything But The Girl and Kylie Minogue. Installation by Tracey Emin and Photographs by Nan Goldin.
